LostI see a lost girl,
searching for her way,
in need of happiness but never reaching out.
For this girl has been hurt, by everyone she had trusted.
This girl was incapable of love.
A weak smile on the outisde, few knew her dark thoughts.
"A lost cause" they'd say,
if only they had tried.
A butterfly wanting to spread her wings,
but stuck in a bubble.

Tell her you'll wrap her in your arms, fight of her inner demons.
Don't run away, like every coward that comes her way.
Make her feel wanted, for she's in need.
Tell her she's beautiful.
Don't regret the time you have with her now,
she won't survive long.

His porcelainThere's a porcelain seller around the corner
who I told not to trust me,
not with his porcelain.

I think he quite liked me, this porcelain seller,
maybe you could even call us friends,
even though he must've thought
I was quite odd, how I refused to sit on
a chair or move his vases or touch anything
or let anything touch me,

it was for his own good,
I told him.

I didn't even trust myself with me,

Bloodshot EyesI stare at the mirror, but what do I see?
Two bloodshot eyes staring back at me.
These pools of crimson foretell my demise
My descent into madness, the truth I despise.

I stare at the screen, but what do I find?
No love, no comfort, no peace of mind.
I strain and I squint while my sanity cries
I shudder to think I'm surrounded by spies.

I stare at her picture, but what do I feel?
Shrouded by doubt, those memories congeal.
She fuels the fire with her intrepid lies
Lingering on my periphery she sighs.

I stare at the ceiling, but what do I think?
I'm left alone as I hang on the brink.
I'm stricken with pain from these mortal ties

We've all got to hang on to something
Even if it's the rope that hangs us.

One of my most favorite and meaningful sentences, finally put down in a form I like. It came up to me during a conversation with a friend which to I replayed this sentence. Ever since I've been wondering what to make of it. It makes chills go down my spine.
